CANCER EXERCISE DVD - STRENGTH TRAINING - GETTING STARTED

Cancer survivors often ask their doctors what they can do to improve their health.  One answer is physical activity.  Cancer survivors often suffer debilitating physical impairment.  These side effects can often be ameliorated through a good exercise program. Exercise can be safe, well tolerated, and is associated with a reduced rate of recurrence.

This DVD, Recovery Fitness Strength Training- Getting Started, will show you how to begin a strength training program.  Strength training can help you gain control over some of the side effects of cancer surgery and treatments.  Strength training is a crucial component of a well-designed cancer exercise program.

This DVD will help you to Improve your Recovery and Fitness:

  • Improve balance and posture
  • Increase strength and energy level
  • Strengthen bones and build muscle
  • Increase self-confidence and sense of well being
  • Reduce stress and anxiety

It is not necessary to perform every chapter in one exercise session. Consult with your doctor as you progress, and before you resume your activities prior to your diagnosis.

Before you begin this or any exercise program you should consult with your health care professional.  Listen to your body and enjoy your improved strength, balance, posture, and a sense of well being.

Exercise is a key component of your cancer recovery.  Exercise can improve your strength and fitness level. Studies show that survivors who engage in exercise have less fatigue. Survivors who exercise have a better mood and less depression.  They also sleep better, have increased self-esteem and a decreased risk of osteoporosis.  The American College of Sports Medicine encourages survivors to stay active.  They also recommend strength training exercises involving all major muscle groups 2 to 3 days a week.

Carol Michaels, who created the DVD, is an award winning fitness consultant, presenter, and Cancer Exercise Specialist. She is the creator of the Recovery Fitness® cancer exercise program.
