Rādx products were developed by an individual (in the skin care business) whose brother was going through intense radiation oncology treatments.

At the beginning of the radiation series, and using the usually prescribed products, the patient developed significant burns and skin irritation. In other words, the usual prescription products did not help.Once the patient used the RĀDX developed products, his skin became soft and supple for the rest of the treatment regimen, without experiencing the expected burning, scarring and skin breakdown.

Based upon these results, the developer of the RĀDX brand began to offer this exceptional product line to others. RĀDX is made with a freshly ground, organic aloe base and lidocaine and several other ingredients that are beneficial to the skin. RĀDX Moisture Therapy uses the raw ingredient prickly pear cactus gel, formulated into a moisturizing/healing lotion. Studies indicate that this gel contains ingredients that are helpful in the preparation of the skin for radiation treatments. Irradiation depletes the skin of moisture and can reduce elasticity. RĀDX Moisture Therapy, used for several days before treatment begins, and during the first few days of the treatment, can help to reduce the damaging effects of radiation.

Moisture Therapy is also excellent as a post treatment follow-up to help replenish moisture as well as aid in the cell regeneration during the skin building process, without leaving a greasy residue that is found in many other moisturizers.

RĀDX SPF #44 8 hour Waterproof Sunblock with Parsol 1789 - $10.00 (2 oz.)

Irradiated skin should not be exposed to sunlight for three years. This sunscreen should be worn daily on treated areas that might be exposed to the sun. Organic aloe gel based, and paba-free, the formulation is made with an 8 hour waterproof system, so one application per day is usually sufficient. This product is made with Parsol 1789 UVA blocker, and the tubes have flip-top lids. The product leaves an almost matte finish so makeup can be easily applied over it.

Daily use of RĀDX Lip Protectant will help to prevent dry lip syndrome. Made with super moisturizers, aloe and vitamins A and E, this SPF 30 product has a real vanilla flavor.

RĀDX TREATMENT PROTOCOL

1. Prior to beginning radiation treatments, apply Moisture Therapy to the proposed treatment area several times daily.
   
   
2. Once treatment begins, apply Moisture Therapy 3 to 4 hours before – and immediately after – each treatment, then 2 to 3 times per day. It may be applied as often as every half hour in cases of skin reddening and inflammation.
   
   
3. Several days into treatments, when discomfort, pain or irritation develops, switch to Radiation Therapy. Apply 3 hours before treatments, and immediately after each treatment. For persistent pain/burning/irritation, Radiation Therapy may be used as often as every half-hour or as needed to relieve pain, redness and irritation. Be sure to use it frequently throughout the day. Continue this process throughout the duration of treatments and for as many days as needed to relieve pain and discomfort, which sometimes continues for several days after treatments are completed
   
   
4. Once pain subsides, revert to Moisture Therapy and apply 2 – 3 times daily for several days.
   
   
5. Patients receiving radiation to the head and neck will notice drying of lips: use RĀDX Lip Protectant (Lip Ice) immediately following each treatment, reapplying as needed
