PROTOCOL FOR THE USE OF BURNAID ON RADIATION BURNS

A radiation burn should be treated as a thermal or heat related burn. As soon as possible, after your radiation treatment, use one of the Burnaid products to stop the progression of the burn, relieve pain, prevent blistering and peeling, prevent secondary infection and speed the healing process.

1. Immediately following your radiation treatment apply Burnaid to the affected area. For best results use Burnaid on skin free of any ointments or lotions.
2. Apply Burnaid directly to your skin. The Burn Gel in the bottles and individual use packets will cool skin for up to twenty minutes. The 4 x 4 Dressings will cool skin for two hours.
3. Burnaid is primarily a first aid product for use on first and second degree burns. It is best not to apply Burnaid to an open, oozing wound. To obtain relief Burnaid can be applied to the surrounding tissue.
4. For comfort and mobility you may cover Burnaid with gauze or a sterile dressing. Burnaid may also be left uncovered if it is more convenient, it does not affect the use or effectiveness of the product either way.
5. Burnaid can be washed off with water and re-applied as often as necessary, it is non-toxic, all natural and will not interfere will any other medication or treatment you might be receiving. Burnaid is for topical treatment only. Do not ingest it.
6. Burnaid can be used for as long as necessary and at any time to cool and sooth irritated skin. Do not limit the use of Burnaid to right after your treatment. It can be used on any irritated skin at any time.
7. Because Burnaid actually stops the burn, the sooner you apply it to your skin, after exposure to heat or radiation, the less damage to your skin you will experience. If you can catch the burn in the beginning stages a lot of the secondary problems associated with burns, such as blistering, scaring, swelling and peeling, can be prevented.
8. Care must be given to the use of Burnaid with children under the age of two. Burnaid rapidly cools the skin and in very small children can cause hypothermia if left on for long periods of time over large parts of the body.

WOUND CARE: These Burnaid dressings are also excellent for wound care. They are helpful for healing bed sores and effective in assisting the healing of diabetic ulcers.
